TOP PLACES TO VISIT WITH KIDS
Both locals and visitors from afar like to spend the summer by Lake Vanamõisa in Tõrva. The lake is on the edge of town by the Tõrva-Pikasilla road. The area of the lake is about 2 hectares and it is up to 10.5 metres deep. The main attraction is the highest diving tower in Estonia (about 11 metres). You can buy soft drinks and ice cream from the beach and a coastguard keeps an eye on the swimmers. You can lie on the sand or rest on the boardwalk or bridges, play volleyball and there are also swings for the children. There is an outhouse and cabins where you can change clothes. Useful information: You can park your car at the parking lot of the Tõrva Secondary School and walk the 200 m to the lake.
Helme Local History Museum
The Helme Local History Museum is located in the village of Kirikuküla, in the former parish of Helme Church. At the Helme Local History Museum, you will not find things that are left behind, but remain memories have been kept, where every object can talk about its maker, user or owner. Museum assets bring out their abundance living values, livelihoods and lifestyle. Here they meet different time periods, becoming a long line of life between yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Valga Military Theme Park
Come and learn about the Paju Battle of the War of Independence on the site where the battle took place. Or would you like to learn more about the past and present of national defence in Estonia? The Military Theme Park includes military vehicles, armoured vehicles, a tank, a bunker of Forest Brothers, a large collection of weapons and many other items. You can test your shooting skills on the shooting simulator. The Theme Park was founded on the initiative of border guards on the premises of the Valga Border Guard Region and was opened in 2000.
Sangaste Manor Stable Visitor Centre
The stable is one of the buildings of the Sangaste Manor which has been renovated into a visitor centre and today houses the exhibition Rukkikrahv ja Ilmaimed (The Rye Count and Wonders of the World). The exhibits at the centre tell the story of the scientific wonders of the 19th century and Count Berg, the owner of Sangaste Castle. It will take the visitors back in time for a hundred years and more. Visitors can also try out exercise devices and other equipment from that time. Children can have fun in the hall of technical wonders as well as at the ‘grandmother’s place’. Come discover and marvel!

Otepää Adventure park is an active leisure centre. Adventure filled climbing at heights is an exciting combination of physical, extreme and playful activity, offering thrills for everyone!
Otepää Winterplace is the largest winter park in Estonia. It offers super opportunities to spend your leisure time actively in the Linnamäe Valley at the centre of Otepää. Otepää Winterplace means four months filled with winter activities for the entire family.
Kuutsemäe Holiday Center
Kuutsemäe – the most attractive and compact mountain sports centre in Estonia that offers leisure opportunities during all seasons. By today, the centre has proved its sustainability, and since 1991, it has been the only mountain skiing and snowboarding centre in Estonia that operates without interruption. Kuutsemäe Holiday Centre offers:

Small Munamägi Ski Center
The popular Väike-Munamäe Ski Resort, or Munakas, was reopened in 2012. Munakas is 2 km from Otepää. The height difference of the hill with two T-bar lifts is 70 m and the longest slope is 450 m. It’s a great opportunity for skiing and snowboarding.
